This morning Keelan came downstairs and told me that The Snake died last night. I think she really thought I’d be more devastated than I am. Don’t get me wrong, I liked the snake. She was fun to take out and hold and let hang out around my neck, etc. I think I spent more time with her than anybody else simply because I’m here more. But, love? It’s kinda hard to get to love a snake, like you would a dog or cat or something that shows personality more.
I do, however, feel very sorry for her. I am sure the reason she didn’t eat the other day is because she was sick. She didn’t act any differently, but hey, she’s a snake.

Do you suppose the mouse scared her to death?
Huge bummer in the part that she was a pet.

Do you know why the snake died? Do you want to know? I thought so; then I will tell you. It died because you DID NOT GIVE IT A NAME. “The Snake” is not a proper name for a creature that abides in your home. Come on!!!! You are creative!!! You have names for your dog, cats, horses, etc. That snake could not even look that mouse in the eye because it was too ashamed of the fact it had no name. How about Boanita, Squishy, Martha Raye (you are not old enough to remember that she was a singer with a really big mouth), Sneaky Snake. Octavia (she had scales – a musical scale has eight tones, hence a scale… oh forget it). If you get another one, give it a name and a little self confidence so it can face the world … and the mice.

Oh no! RIP snake.
Speaking of snakes…. my daughter was telling me about this girl that had a boa constrictor, and she LOVED it so much she would take it out and handle it ALL the time. She even let is SLEEP with her. Weird and kinda creepy I know. Anyway, it stopped eating for like 2 weeks (or some really long length of time<– that would be quote from said daughter) so the girl took it to the vet. You know what the vet told her?? The snake was starving itself so it could prepare itself to EAT HER!!!!!!!!! Yep, snake=gone!
