My dad was telling me a story just the other day about a woman who started seeing people and was convinced that people were coming into her house. She wanted my dad to call the police. I think it's a sign of oncoming dementia. I've actually heard of lots of cases like this...one woman saw herself in a mirror and didn't recognize her "old" self and wanted to know who that old woman was in the bathroom.

Eh, gee guys,
I have now asked her specifically "Do you hear them talk to you?"
"Noooo...not really. They don't talk to me really, but I guess they nod their heads... I don't THINK they have ever talked to me. But, see now I am wearing this to bed", (points to hearing aid), "and I can hear moving around."
I think she is probably hearing HER moving around and when she opens her eyes she assumes it's them. My SIL told us that H had been telling her that she was "in there with a bunch of people" shortly before SIL walked in there this morning. I have also discerned that they are fairly "poor" dressers. Except for this one man who was in a black suit like a tux and his little girl was all ready for communion, with white flowers in her hair. She said that the little girl reached out to her the other day and she tried to touch her hand and there was nothing there.
She takes .5 mg of Ativan, along with the ubiquitous stool softener, (it's aaaall about the poo), before bed. And I am thinking on the one hand that the dosage is sooo small it can't be affecting her that much, but on the other hand, I remember the few times she has attempted to sleep without it and she was allllll over that bell. She thought people were climbing in the windows and there was water running down the walls and all kinds of crazy stuff that she KNOWS isn't happening and she has never acted that crazy before, not like that.
I sooo don't know what is going on, but I think I am going to pick up another baby monitor so I can listen in again like I did when she first moved in with us. She had some lengthy, one sided conversations with "people" back then. Then she stopped having visitors and the monitor stopped working way back when. So I will get another one.
Big Hair, you have pointed out the very most important part of this whole drama.
They can continue to come here as long as they don't bring any more stupid stuffed animals.

I think they are totally legit. If they keep her entertained for a while, and they don't frighten her, no harm done. At least they don't bring her stuffed animals:)

Did you mean she can't hear them without her hearing aids or she can? I thought she could hear them.

I DEFINITELY believe in things like that. My old boyfriend saw his deceased grandfather sitting in the pews one morning at church. I don't see things, but after my grandparents passed away, I'll smell my grandfather's pipe tobacco on occasion or see hummingbirds (my Gam's favorite) ALL over the place ... like in Yosemite, where I've never seen them before, or since the time we scattered her ashes there.

I think it's actually kind of cool! Especially if she's not scared of them.

What sorts of things were they talking about? Mundane things like "who forgot to flush the toilet again?" or more serious meaning of life type things?

I find it very interesting that she cannot hear them without her hearing aid in, because clairaudience would not normally rely on the normal hearing mechanisms, but rather on the brain hearing center. I only see dead people when I am asked to, so I would resent them coming to visit uninvited. How does she feel about them?
