I stumbled upon something rather disturbing just now. I am about as far south as you can get in the US and I’m still not sure this is acceptable. At all. I am thinking I would have to live in a more mountainous region to see it as…prudent. HOWEVER, my possum problem might have an upside after all…
Last night I had a couple of nightlights in H’s room. In the past she said she didn’t want them because they were “too bright” in her face while sleeping. She wasn’t having the haint situation at the time, however. So this morning I asked her how she slept and she said that there were “people” standing right over there and gestured on the other side of her nightstand. She said she got her little flashlight and shined it on them because she thought they might be trying to steal her things, and they ducked down behind the nightstand. I realize that is sounding a bit crazy, but you would have to know just how incredibly paranoid she is to understand how much this sounds just like something she’d say. Right on the nose.

I hope your hubby appreciates all you do in having to care for her. I think I’d drink heavily if mine came to stay longer than overnight.

Amen to AFF’s comment, and I don’t even have a husband!

Dude – it’s sounding more and more like she’s going loopy. I’d call the gerry doc . . . pronto!

Nouvelle Possum? What the heck? I’m thinking that I might be able to make a little cash off of the daily roadkill. Then there’s the part of scraping it off of the road……. I don’t need new shoes THAT bad!
Poor H. It’s one thing to have the haints around, and another to have them upset her. Do you want me to come over tonight and sit up with you until they come out? I’ll bring a bottle of wine, and we can tell them to GET THE HECK OUT! She probably should be on some type of meds. It would make her, and you, feel better.
Don’t lose your sense of humor through all of this. It’s the one thing that will keep you sane. Not to mention your blogger buddies 🙂

Seriously? The really weird thing is she is much worse when she doesn’t take the Ativan. See, it’s an anti-anxiety med that she CANNOT go to sleep without. (Go ahead and ask me if we’ve ever tried THAT…) And even if she finally manages to, she is waking up ringing the bell all night with all kinds of melodrama shit that has been WAY over produced in her little head.
Last night was haint-free, however! Maybe they’ll be gone for a while, now!
You are all very sweet for being so concerned for her AND me, though!
