GlAsstic (?)

I wish I knew how to “do” stained glass. You know, cutting, and leading and all that. Make a huge lovely framed piece for my bathroom window.
I think I am going to have to add this to my list of “When I grow up…” Oh, I really think I should!

I want my table back.

For months this has been the perpetual state of my dining room table, I mean ALL THE TIME. Kessa is living larger than life in here and it always looks like a drunken librarian threw up all over my table and then exploded, leaving book guts all over the place, including the floor against the wall.

Oh stop. You know it could happen.

Vibrating dog.

No. I’m not talking about some strange new sex toy. It is thundering outside right now and Kissy is in my lap as I type this. She is terrified of thunder and shakes ridiculously hard every time it rains. She will now be called Kissy-the-sissy, cause, hey, it is fitting AND it sounds melodious. Should have started doing this a long time ago.

What a SWEETHEART!

Keelan slept on the couch last night as she had a guest over to spend the night and this particular little girl is a tad vicious in her sleep, hitting, kicking, verbal insults, whatever. No, she is a sweet girl, just a hairy sleeper. Keelan was still asleep when her sister appeared. Kes had been upstairs watching a movie with Gilbert, her boyfriend, and she just came running downstairs and leaned over Keelan and said in a loud, penetrating voice, “SISTER! GILBERT WAS GOING TO COME DOWN HERE AND WAKE YOU UP, BUT I TOLD HIM ‘NO!’”. Keelan just kind of moaned and pulled the pillow over her head.

Kes then raced back upstairs to continue her movie, which had been paused for her informative message.

Semper Donates Award nominee

Kes has been nominated for the Semper Donates Award! I am so proud of her! Yeah, I know. I didn’t either, but the paper she brought home explains… She is being recognized for being a senior who has demonstrated service and commitment to their school and community that makes them exemplars of excellence. It goes on to say that it is one of the highest awards bestowed upon a student at Dickinson High. Semper Donates is a Latin term that means “always giving”. But, like myself, I am sure you speak fluent Latin and knew that. Just in case- it is pronounced, doe-not-a’s, not donate. Cause, hey, anyone can forget a little of the favorite language they love to jabber all day long.
